ANZSECS membership is open to all those interested in studies of the long eighteenth century. The majority of funds raised through membership fees are directed towards running the conference, postgraduate travel grants and the production of a resulting publication from the conference.
Membership is valid for 3 years (2026-28), culminating in the 20th David Nichol Smith Seminar in Sydney, 2028.

- Promotion of a community of scholars engaged in eighteenth-century studies and opportunities to share research interests and news relating to the field
- Eligibility to participate in ANZSECS’ flagship international conference, the David Nichol Smith Seminar
- Eligibility to participate in the conferences of affiliated societies during the membership cycle, including:
- ISECS quadrennial international congress (Zaragoza, Spain, 2027)
- Eligibility to participate in postgraduate and ECR events throughout the cycle
- Eligibility to apply for one of three Gale / ANZSECS Fellowships (for postgraduates and ECRs), to the value of US$3250 each
Membership rates as of 2026 are as follows:
- Membership (academics and waged) $AUD100 for 3 years (2026-28)
- PG Membership (students and unwaged) $AUD30 for 3 years (2026-28)
